Milos Port Transfers from Adamas

Almost everyone who arrives in Milos by sea steps off at Adamas. The ferries from Piraeus and the neighbouring Cyclades all dock here, and so do the cruise tenders. It is a busy, compact quay, and when a large ferry unloads, several hundred people look for transport at the same moment.

A pre-booked private transfer means your driver is already standing on the quay when the ramp comes down, holding a sign with your name. No queue, no negotiation, no waiting for the one taxi to come back.

Ferry and cruise pickups

  • We track the ferry. Cycladic ferries are frequently late. We follow the actual arrival, not the timetable.
  • Name sign on the quay. Your driver waits where passengers come off, not in a car park.
  • Help with luggage, which matters on a quay with no trolleys.
  • Fixed price per vehicle, agreed before you travel.
  • Cruise passengers. If you are ashore for the day, see our cruise transfers from Adamas. We meet the tender with a name sign and can return you before the last boat.

Connecting to a flight

Adamas to Milos airport is a fixed €25 and takes about ten minutes. If you are moving from a ferry straight to a flight, send us both times and we will build in a sensible buffer, because ferry delays are the usual reason people miss flights here.

Travelling on to Kimolos

The small ferry to Kimolos leaves from Pollonia, not Adamas. It is a €35 transfer across the island and takes around twenty-five minutes. See Kimolos ferry transfers for how we time the drop at the pantofle quay and collect you on return.

Arriving in Adamas

Adamas is the commercial heart of Milos as well as its port. Most of the banks, the larger supermarkets, the dive centres and the boat-trip operators are here, and it is where the Kleftiko excursion boats leave from. If you are staying elsewhere on the island, you will still come back to Adamas fairly often.

The quay itself is compact. Large ferries dock at the main pier and passengers walk off directly onto the waterfront road, which becomes extremely busy for the fifteen minutes after an arrival. Vehicles cannot wait on the pier itself, so pre-arranged pickups meet passengers just off it, at an agreed point. We will tell you exactly where when we confirm your booking.

Timing your departure

For a ferry out of Adamas, plan to be at the port around thirty minutes before departure, and forty-five in August or if you are travelling with vehicles or large amounts of luggage. Boarding for the big Piraeus ferries closes earlier than people expect, and the port has no left-luggage facility, so arriving very early is not especially comfortable either. We will suggest a pickup time that balances the two when you book.

If the sea is against you

Cyclades ferries are cancelled outright a few times each season when the wind gets up, usually with limited notice. If that happens to you, contact us as soon as you know. We will move your transfer at no charge, and if you end up needing to reach the airport instead we will get you there.

My ferry is delayed. Will the driver wait?
Yes. We track the vessel and adjust. Ferry delays are normal in the Cyclades and we do not charge for them.
Where do we meet on the quay?
At the passenger exit of the ferry, with a name sign. Adamas quay is small and easy to navigate.
Can you collect us very early for the first ferry out?
Yes, we run 24/7 and there is no early-morning surcharge.
Do you handle groups arriving together?
We do. Tell us the headcount and luggage and we will send the right combination of vehicles.
